President Trump just took questions for the first time since the controversy over his NFL comments. He was speaking alongside the Spanish Prime Minister on the White House lawn about the threat of North Korea, but the first question was about Trump’s message to NFL players.
Reuters reporter Steve Holland asked President Trump why he’s wasting his time on the NFL after the devastation of Puerto Rico and amid rising tensions with North Korea. Trump glared at this reporter and exposed how STUPID this question was. His answer will make Americans CHEER. (Video Below)
President Trump first pointed out that it only takes a few seconds to Tweet something out or make a comment about the NFL. He said “all he does” is work so he has plenty of time. Then, he walked the reporter through everything his Admin. has done for hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Texas, and Florida. Trump said the Governor of Puerto Rico had just sent him a personal message thanking him for all he’s done.
Trump also defended his NFL comments, said that honoring our country is VERY important and he won’t back down from his message to the NFL. “Many people have died… Many people are so horribly injured… fighting for our country, fighting for our flag, fighting for our national anthem. And for people to disrespect that by kneeling during the playing of our National Anthem is disgraceful,” Trump said. WATCH the video clip below then SHARE on Facebook so this goes viral!
From Fox News:
President Trump doubled down Tuesday on his criticism of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, calling the protests “disgraceful” and blatantly disrespectful to veterans who fought for flag and country.
“I don’t think you can disrespect our country, our flag, our national anthem,” Trump said at a Rose Garden press conference.
The president, in response to criticism in the media, insisted he was not preoccupied with the controversy – and is focusing instead on the federal government’s hurricane response in the Caribbean.
But explaining his decision to speak out on the anthem protests, Trump cited all those who have died or been injured fighting for the United States.
