Iconic Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has reportedly accepted a role as Texas State Senator Wendy Davis in an upcoming film called “Let Her Speak,” according to BizPacReview.
The film follows Davis during her 11-hour filibuster that stopped the passage of a bill which would’ve banned abortions after 20 weeks.
So yes, in other words, Bullock’s next big film will highlight one of the most alienating state legislators in the country who pushed for late-term abortions.
This always goes well for Hollywood, I feel. (Kidding)
Davis performed her legendary filibuster back in 2013, and at the time, even President Obama was keeping a close eye on the coverage.
Davis had intended to “ride out the clock” with a 13-hour filibuster, but senate Republicans ended it after just 11 hours. Following, a crowd of spectators began to chant “LET HER SPEAK”—hence the name for the film.
Here’s a clip of the crowd:
Good luck to Bullock with the rest of her career following this little flick.
If conservatives react the way they did to Target—which is now closing locations all over the country—she could be in big trouble.
